We met with Dr. Zhang Monday, Mar 28. After 23 days without a seizure,

Chana had 5 seizures this week with the last being Saturday morning, Mar

26. In addition to last week's formula, I made three changes as of last

Friday which appear to be benefiting her: I increased the dosage of Da

Huang to 5g, and I added the patents qing qi hua tan wan, (8 TID) and

tian ma mi huan su (3 TID). The benefit has seemed to be immediate, and

Dr. Zhang supported my decision, based upon Chana's recovery and

symptoms. 'Have also continued FSR twice daily, which continues to

sedate her. Now for her symptoms: Sleep has been erratic, but even when

she has slept well, she has been having a lot of dreams with a lot of

talking in her sleep. Urination has been very frequent . Stools before

seizures were large and soft, but markedly smaller, less frequent and

with mucus. No stool Thursday prompted the increase in dosage of Da

Huang. Since then, a little larger, but still soft and well formed.

Spasms, particularly in chin and jaw much more pronounced the days that

seizures occur. Tremor and spasm in wrists and hands better since

addition of tian ma mi huan su. Balance, walking and speech are also

improved. A lot of phlegmy coughing, but without expectoration.

Irritable, demanding and at times irrational temperament.
