Guest guest
Dear Todd and all, Your interesting conjecture concerning contagion brought to mind another idea that I would like to place on the table for discussion: Food and environmental allergies from a classical perspective. Obviously there are local issues of wind, stagnation, phlegm, dampness and heat, depending on how the allergy manifests itself, but aside from Yu Ping Feng San, (and even that essentially only addresses wei qi xu as manifested as lung xu and increased susceptability to upper respiratory tract infections, but doesn't specifically address susceptability to allergens ), did the ancients observe specific reactions to substances that in their absences the symptoms dissappeared? --and if so how were they treated? Or are food and environmental allergies a modern consequence of pollution and lifestyle excesses? My best to all, Yehuda " When you see someone doing something wrong, realize that it was brought before you because you did something similar. Therefore, instead of judging him, judge yourself.
