Guest guest
PET means positro emission tomography. In issue #3, 2005 of Zhong Yi Yan Jiu (Chinese Medical Research), Wang Shou-cheng et al. published an article describing changes in PET scans associated with liver qi depression and binding. Using intravenously injected flourine-18-2-deoxy-D-glucose (18F-FDG) as a marker for brain activity, they found that glucose metabolism was decreased in the following areas of the brain: Brodmann 47 (orbital) Brodmann 21 (middle temporal) Brodmann 6 or even 4 and 6 (6, agranular frontal, 4, gigantopyramidal) However, glucose metabolism was increased in right Brodmann 18 (parastriate). Just thought this was interesting. Bob
