Guest guest
Zev, That is true but there can be no function without some form of structure (even electricity has a form). That is the yin and the yang. I believe that many of the concepts of the jing luo mai and that of OM treatments can be explained via these. For the benefit of all it would be a nice dialogue to come up with what we think these properties of channels are and then we can digress. So what do you think? Mike W. Guest guest
Alon, Then what do you call the white blood cells? Mike W. Guest guest
I don't think there are any criteria for a physical structure for a channel. I've studied the phenomenon of channels long enough, and compared Chinese medical sources with biology (such phenomena as cell signalling systems, which do not have a clear structure) to firmly conclude for myself that channels do not have or need a physical substrate. Guest guest
Zev, Maybe a better choice of words would be manifestation. The DNA, RNA and hormones (adrenaline and estrogen) flowing thru the Bonghan vessels speak volumes to the acupuncture effects related to growth and development, jing and yin and yang and yet they appear to follow the traditional pathways. Can you explain the coincidence? Mike W. Bowser, L Ac
Guest guest
Doesn't the Shang Han Lun and Wen Bing Xue indirectly describe the immunity response? The immune system structure(that you are looking for), in TCM terms, sounds similar to the idea of finding a Grand Unified Theory in physics. Were the state of the five yin, 6 yang organs, qi, blood and emotions have to be in the equation. Jeff Smith

[Jason] Granted I am coming in half way on this one, but I have never seen any reference or indirect reference to the immune system or immune response in such texts... Can you elaborate... -Jason The immune system structure(that you are looking for), > in TCM terms, sounds similar to the idea of finding a Grand Unified Theory > in physics.
