Guest guest
Hi Sharon Green, The EBVS [European Board of Veterinary Specialisation] page at http://www.ebvs.org/index.php?Page=pdf/April_2005.pdf states: " The veterinary profession received the prerogative for diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases based on the assumption that veterinarians are guided by scientific methods. The EBVS therefore only recognises scientific, evidence-based veterinary medicine which complies with animal welfare legislation Specialists or colleges who practice or support implausible treatment modalities with no proof of effectiveness run the risk of withdrawal of their specialist status. No creditpoints can be granted for education or training in these so- called supplementary, complementary and alternative treatment modalities. " What is the policy of the EBVS on veterinary acupuncture, herbal medicine & osteopathic/chiropractic medicine? Does EBVS recognise professional veterinary training in those modalities?: (a) for use in practice, and (b) for credit points? Best regards, Tel: (H): +353-(0) or (M): +353-(0) Ireland.
