Guest guest
The niece of a friend of mine, a young Iranian woman, is interested in studying TCM formally--she's been apprenticing with a couple doctors in Iran and studying a lot on her own. She's fluent in English but my friend and I both think it would probably be difficult, given her age and nationality, for her to get a visa to come to the US. Would anyone have recommendations of good programs in Canada, Australia, or the UK? It would probably be preferable for her to be somewhere with a dorms and such so she doesn't have to find housing too. Are there schools that tend to draw foreign students, especially from the Middle East? Many thanks, Sarah Rivkin saydit
Guest guest
China, Korea or Japan tend to have large schools with dorms. Gancao.net has listings for many programs internationally. Best of luck. Guest guest
Dear Sarah, What city is she in? I can only speak of LA, but here there are a number of schools and to the best of my knowledge, there are Iranians in a few of them. LA also has the largest Iranian population of any city outside of Iran, from what I understand. Also, because LA is such a melting pot, many non-Anglos (besides non-Chinese) can be found in all the schools. Best of luck, Yehuda - " saydit " <saydit Tuesday, July 05, 2005 5:51 PM TCM instruction in English, not in the US > The niece of a friend of mine, a young Iranian woman, is interested in > studying TCM > formally--she's been apprenticing with a couple doctors in Iran and > studying a lot on her > own.
