Guest guest
Alon, the increase of American health and longevity I will agree was not due to the American Diet or lifestyle ... it is to the EFFICIENCY of WM that should be acknowledged. Medicine for the herd. Hospitals (an Arabic concept) has been advanced a thousand fold by WM. YET, now we're faced with hospital-induced diseases and deaths that is growing at an astonishing rate. The remedy? washing hands and cleanliness. Preventative medicine - a hallmark of classical Chinese medicine. In a hospital one has better odds of coming down with a disease - other than one entered the hospital for- than winning the California lottery. Where one works in a hospital setting one WILL be afflicted with a disease. But there is a vaccine for that. Where one is one of the Statistically in-consequential who experiences a disabling side affect there is workers compensation. Statistically vaccines saves lives. " Statistically in-consequential " deaths occur. Yet thousands of deaths do occur. The Good Shepherd of leaving no one behind. Individual specific treatment another hallmark of classical Chinese medicine. Western medicine is excellent for moving the herd along. Terrible at bed-side manners for those left behind. The number one cause of infant mortality and birth defects in America is environmental toxins. The greatest percentage is self-induced; drugs, alcohol and cigarette smoking. These are LIFE-STYLE choices. WM offer No Hope here. Actually making the condition worse in the case of drug-born diseases. WM insists ALL new-borns before leaving the hospitable be given a hepatitis vaccine - even to those that are not at risk and despite the knowledge that some Statistically in-consequential babies will be adversely afflicted and die! Tough Choices ? WM efficiently moves the herd along allowing it to continue a degenerative lifestyle while sacrificing Statistically in-consequential innocent babies. Efficiency of herd management. Statistically both numbers will grow (more drugs use more vaccines more dead babies from vaccines) or Classical Chinese medicine [that should refuse] to treat those who refuse to help themselves. Classical Chinese medicine protects the innocent. IF Classical Chinese medicine were heeded LIFESTYLE changes would be made and infant mortality in America would be greatly reduced. Statistically both numbers will decline. (less drug use less infant mortality) As to the CNN report. What was not reported: Where Chicago reversed the flow of the Chicago river from its natural course into Lake Michigan and diverted into the Mississippi river past St Louis. Chicago then dumped its raw sewage into the river and St Louis got a cute nickname. While Milwaukee dumped its raw sewage into Lake Michigan which flowed to Chicago's drinking water. Chicago being the meat packing capital of the world shipping the water-processed meat all over the world; and the raw sewage to St Louis. Where St Louis was the central point for the cattle coming into Chicago. In the 1970's I worked for " Clean Water Klein " a Chicago Republican who became under-secretary of the Interior for Richard Nixon and seriously began efforts to clean up the waterways. If one recalls Lake Erie was then considered a " dead lake " where people actually saw fires burring on the lake! The Gary Steel mills where the houses and trees where literally red from the ever present red smog are now colorfully painted and the trees actually green - and the steel mills gone and the air breathable. This humongous 40+ year effort is the reason for greater health and longevity. Simply put 50-100 years ago America was dumping RAW SEWAGE and garbage into its drinking water. Today we are not. Our waterways are visibly cleaner and our health is visibly reflected. There remains unseen toxins and insidious diseases and when those are addressed there will be another great leap forward in health and longevity. Western medicine is taking credit where no credit is due. Ed Kasper LAc. Licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist Santa Cruz, CA. - where the number one industry is tourism at the beach boardwalk and one lone sign at the mouth of the river where the San Lorenzo river flows into the ocean reads " Polluted No Dot Swim " as children of all ages frolic and play... efficiency of the herd! " " <alonmarcus Re: Including western medicine - the greatest advancement in health has come from 1. cleanliness 2. Diet and 3. lifestyle >>>>I just saw a report on CNN that showed some 20 years increase in life span from the 1950s. I would have a hard time believing that the above account for that. Guest guest
One should be careful in making these kind of assumptions as the US had just come out of a world war a few years prior and Americans were actually healthier due to rationing of food. This prevented us from our normal glutiny and the illnesses that result from over-consumption. In areas where food and water are taken into account and cleaned up, health improves. Yet somehow this simple logic escapes those who want to vaccinate every African for their health problems. It has not worked. I have found an interesting story that I heard about vit C and scurvy and how it took almost a hundred years to accept that the problem was due to a nutritional deficiency and that drugs were not the answer. By the way, WM is the third leading cause of death in this country. Some triumph, huh? Mike W.
