Guest guest
This is from the pharmacology section of the updated database I have been working on for our CD-ROM (original references: Chinese Materia Medica, by You-Ping Zhu; Chinese Medical Herbology and Pharmacology, Chen and Chen): -------- from entry on Yin Yang Huo: Stimulates reproductive system: the herb increases sperm production and increases libido; it increase the weight of prostate and seminal vesicles; it increases urinary excretion of 17-ketosteroids, although excretion of 17-hydroxycorticosteroids remains unaffected. Other studies show that the herb increases secretion of corticosterone, cortisol, and testosterone. ---- Roger ><wcargal9 >Re: Fwd: inquiry > > >Do you have a reference for this " yin yang huo increase circulating >testosterone " > >Thanks, >Warren Cargal ---Roger Wicke, PhD, TCM Clinical Herbalist contact: www.rmhiherbal.org/contact/ Rocky Mountain Herbal Institute, Hot Springs, Montana USA Clinical herbology training programs - www.rmhiherbal.org
Guest guest
From our previous discussion of XXY chromosome defect , which effects the sertoli cells ability to generate sperm causing sterlity. Curious if the yin yang huo is effecting the adrenals which produce a small amount of T or is it effecting the sertoli cells. Still a fundamental question is How fixed are the genes? Are the herbs effecting the genes? I wonder if our genetic view is similiar to a classical physics view of molecules being interacted on by other molecules, which suddenly was profoundly changed by the introduction of quatum physics.
