Guest guest
apparently the major factor in epigenetic changes is dietary quality, further linking the concept with postnatal jing. also lending strong support to the idea that genes are not destiny. but you may have inherited epigenetic changes from your parents that still leand to disease. the question is whether anything can be undo or mitigate the changes already done or prevent further ones from occurring. Interestingly, epigeneticists are primarily focused on diagnosis and preventive changes in diet. Most believe the changes are too complex to control with drugs. But what about herbs? If epigenetic factors are complex and multivariant, perhaps an equivalent therapy is called for. There is already evidence that many chinese herbs affect gene expression. This is an epigenetic effect. > > - > " " > > Sunday, August 21, 2005 3:23 PM > epigenetics in New Scientist 2004 > > > > https://notes.utk.edu/Bio/greenberg.nsf/0/ > b360905554fdb7d985256ec5006a7755?OpenDocument > > > recent experiment have proved that Lamarck was partly right in his > intuitive view of evolution. implications for medicine and > understanding of jing. epigenetics is really the study of postnatal > jing or those extragenetic factors from the environment that affect > genetic expression and most astoundingly result in changes that can > be passed to one's offspring. so part of our " culture " is actually > inherited due to changes in the genes of our parents as a result of > their experiences. fascinating. > > > > Chinese Herbs > > > > > > > > > > >
