Guest guest
Phil There is no circiut diagram, just a light source(torch modified with abalone shell) connected to copper pipe thingo, connected to crystals which have been cut purposefully for this task. I am getting around to writing an article on it ....... most physicists would think I was mad to suggest that such a contraption could do anything .....but proof (results) is in the pudding so to say. Any people on the list had any expereince using lazers to find that it can damage yin if applied for too long, eg like moxa. This one certainly damages yin if applied on points too long which is wierd because there is no heat at all generated from the light source. Guest guest
Sounds like this is similar in idea to Colorpuncture that came out of Germany(or Peter Mandel). They have been published in some acupuncture journals. They use a high powered handheld light source(similar looking to a maglite) to illuminate quart rods of different colors. They apply these different wave lengths of light(different colors) to specific acupuncture points directly. The rods are slightly pointed so that they can produce acupressure also. They may use a clear quartz rod, you will have to check the website. http://www.colorpuncture.com/whatis.html If you have a light source you will produce heat at the source and the light will produce heat where it illuminates(though maybe imperceptible). Copper absorbs and disperses heat quickly, and is most commonly used for what they call heat sinks. visible range is 700 nm to 400 nm wavelengths. It is electromagnetic radiation. red = 680 nm yellow green = 550 nm violet = 410 nm white light is all the colors(or wavelengths 400 through 700nm) being emitted. Black light on the other hand you have to go to Spencer gifts or smoke shops. Most materials have a refraction index which tells how much it will alter the angles of entering and exiting of the light through the material, like Newton did with light through a prism. Light intensity can be measured, measurements are in lux, lumens, or foot candles. The easiest is using photography equipment. http://www.technika.com/navpage/light.htm I think it all comes down to the practitioner. Some can produce results using their energy/universal energy with herbs, acupuncture or some other medium. I like Happy Mediums. Guest guest
Thanks Jeff yes that is where I got the idea from , but I just thought that using pieces of coloured plastic was a bit unnatural and very expensive ! The heat reaction is strange though, if I hold a torch to my forehead area for half an hour each night I don't get any heat problems. If I hold a zircon crystal via the light souce for 10-20 minutes to my forehead I will wake up with conjunctivitis. Sorry group I know this is off the forum list as a herb topic but I thought it would be a good way to introduce myself to the new moderator. :-) Heiko Lade M.H.Sc.(TCM) Lecturer and clinic supervisor Auckland College of Natural Medicine Website: www.acnm.co.nz - jeffrey smith Sunday, September 04, 2005 8:35 AM Re: " Heiko's Lazer " Sounds like this is similar in idea to Colorpuncture that came out of Germany(or Peter Mandel).
