Has anyone seen any major issues with the copper IUD and endometriosis /

blood stasis? I have read in passing that it may be a concern. Also, has

anyone seen any solid research on this. Thanx,

IMO, Actually, there is probably less blood stasis. IUD users have a lower

incidence of endometrial cancers. And the heavy bleeding really moves the

blood.

The mirena IUD, which has progestin in it, which over time causes the menses

to become scantier and scantier may be problematic- but that is only

projection.

Cara -

Isn't there a long term problem with scarring however?

Most of the reading I have done indicates that there

is often more scarring, perhaps due to low grade

inflammations when the IUD is in, that make eventual

pregnancies more difficult.
