Guest guest
Hi Bob, You got it right that people are interested in hidden or deep-lying evils. I am thinbking in particular of the great affliction of our times (staggering statistics) Genital Herpes. It sounds as thouhg this approach would make total sense - since the attacks usually occur when people are under the fire of stress. - so to strengthen SP and KI and QI and then to use the other three ingredients did you run with it? I wonder about the sweating part It is said that something like the infra red sauna would benefit the elimination of a virus or might this sweating refer to the sweating from exertion (different thing altogether) Any experiental light you can shed on Genital Herpes much appreciated. thank you for your response and best wishes to you One day I'll come on a little trip to Mexico........... Verena, You might take a look at the genital herpes section of my Symposium packet. I'll upload the file to the CHA site as 1 Eric Symposium. This file is a 50 page handbook on a few common gynecological diseases. Actually, it is just the handout materials from my afternoon lecture at the most recent Pacific Symposium. The main goal of the file is to point out the pathomechanisms and treatments of a few common biomedical GYN diseases with their corresponding traditional CM diseases. The diseases selected are uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and genital herpes. The (most common) associated TCM diseases for these modern conditions are profuse menstruation, flooding and spotting, concretions and conglomerations, painful menstruation, and yin sores. The pathomechanisms, disease-based, and pattern-based treatments for all of these conditions are discussed. The main goal is to encourage practitioners to use pathomechanisms and traditional diseases to assess " new " conditions that were unknown or unclear to Chinese medicine historically. Of particular interest in the genital herpes section is a brief exploration of when sexually transmitted diseases became apparent in CM. As far as I can tell, the earliest strong evidence for knowledge of sexual transmission didn't come around till the Southern Song Dynasty, becoming very clear by the Ming Dynasty with the spread of syphilis. If others know more about this, please let me know. In terms of treatments for genital herpes, there are a number treatments based around both " disease identification as the basis for determining treatment " (bian bing lun zhi) and " pattern identification as the basis for determining treatment " (bian zheng lun zhi). Perhaps you'll find it interesting. The material is all taken directly (by translation) from mainstream TCM gynecology and integrative medical textbooks.
