Guest guest
Hi all, I've been using this software for my Palm to help me out in learning Chinese. It is both Chinese to English and English to Chinese, recognising pinyin as well as having excellent handwriting recognition software, and allowing you to program your own entries, it comes very highly recommended: http://www.pleco.com/ I was just wondering, if anybody else had been using this or anything like it, and was working on creating a Wiseman/Feng dictionary? If it is finished, can I have it, and if not can I help you in transcribing? Cheers Lionel

I don't know how y6u could do an automatic dump of the digital Wiseman/Feng dictionary into the Palm software, I've never attempted to add entries. If you figure it out, I can contribute the electronic W/F materials to make it work. Eric
Guest guest
Mike Love, who created Pleco, told me that such a program is being worked on. When available? I have no idea. Ann p.s. cool tool, no? Hi all, I've been using this software for my Palm to help me out in learning Chinese. Guest guest
I've told him that. Why don't YOU knock on Mike's door and ask him? Just go to the pleco site -- i believe there is a contact option there available. Tell him Ann sent ya. I haven't seen him lately, but I'm sure he'd be able to let you know whatever trips and starts are happening with the Wiseman. ann Well then he should hurry the heck up! If he had it I am sure he would have lots of people on this list, as well as everybody that goes through SIOM, knocking down his door. Meantime, I will see if I can work out how we can do this ourselves. What form is the Wiseman digital text in? -Li " In the search for lasting peace and happiness, some pursue money and power, some pursue " energy " and healing, some pursue spiritual experiences. Whichever the case one is encouraged to search until the object of desire is found, so as to deeply understand the happiness thereby achieved passes too. The only thing that lasts is that which is never born, and the only thing that fits the bill is ever-present consciousness. Fortunately, consciousness being conscious of its own identity as consciousness is a pretty happy chappy. What form is the Wiseman digital text in? We manage the database in many different forms, so we can manipulate it in Excel, Word, Access, DBase, etc. If you find a solution, I can dump the data into Pleco. However, before I did that, you'd need to figure out two things: 1) How can the data be tranferred? 2) How can the newly-modified Pleco dictionary content be shared among users?
