Guest guest
Surrounding the area with four to six (depending on the size) 2 cun needles. Insert about 1.5 cun under the skin of affected area towards center (as said in a popular 80's film...what ever you do dont cross the streams.). Light electric stim is applied for one hour every other day or in cases of very severe pain daily. 10 treatments = 1 course. I know the frequency is difficult for a patient in the U.S. but this is what my teacher here suggested. Guest guest
I would like to thank everyone for there posts on this topic. I was actually looking for more herbal based ideas. This patient could not tolerate any of the needle techniques mentioned, her condition is quite severe. It is also POST herpetic neuralgia. The patient is extremely weak and wiped out from the Western MEDS and the Shingles... If there are any other ideas (herbal), I would appreciate the input Thanx, -Jason > > > On Behalf Of Mark Schwartz > Thursday, December 15, 2005 3:47 AM > > Electric needle for post shingles pain > > Surrounding the area with four to six (depending on the size) 2 cun > needles. Guest guest
Hi Jason, Consider looking into Tamanu oil to be used topically. It has an anti-viral and analgesic effect as well as promoting tissue re- growth. I use it for patients for cold sores, shingles, as well as non healing yin or yang type ulcers. There are diluted versions available but the 100% Tamanu oil seems to work best and it's a bit pricey ($20 for 1/2 ounce) but will last a long time. It's available at health food stores and I'm sure other companies have good products but I use New Chapter's product. More info in the links below. http://www.medicinehunter.com/tamanu1.htm http://www.thehealthierlife.co.uk/article/2983/tamanu-oil.html -Danny On Dec 15, 2005, at 4:50 PM, wrote: > I would like to thank everyone for there posts on this topic.
