Guest guest
A 14-year-old male has an almost egg-size sebaceous cyst (according to a dermatologist) near his nipple. Neither his mother nor he want it surgically excised. Does anyone know of an herbal compress that would help resolve this type of cyst? They are willing to put the time in to apply compresses, no matter how long it takes. Frances Gander Athens, Ohio
Guest guest
I've always liked that green clay, available in health food stores usually. If it's near the surface, it might work. It's very drawing. ann A 14-year-old male has an almost egg-size sebaceous cyst (according to a dermatologist) near his nipple. Neither his mother nor he want it surgically excised. Guest guest
Also- old fashioned but it does work: cabbage leaves. Daikon radish compresses would also help: all radishes help to resolve phlegm. what about using herbs for phlegm nodules? Guest guest
Yes, and ITM has a couple of formulas that Subhuti suggests might be good, like Scrophularia 12 for, among other things, " swellings under the skin " and " skin eruption " .(Base formula of xiao yao san + scrophhularia, prunella, fritillaria, forsythia, lonicara.) I've personally never gotten around to using it for that but it is very effective for lymph node swelling, and rather quick too. Their Otolith Tablets are also said to be indicated for swellings in the head, but also " cystic acne, or lipomas " . ( " cleans toxin, removes phlegm-damp accumulation " ) Let us know if any of this helps. ann Also- old fashioned but it does work: cabbage leaves.
