Analysis of articles in a typical TCM journal

On pages 13-16 of issue #5, 2005 of the He Nan Zhong Yi Za Zhi (Henan

Journal of ), there is an analysis of all articles

published in this journal from 200-2004. This journal publishes six

issues per year. So this analysis covered a total of 30 issue in which

had been published a total of 1638 articles. Reports on clinical

trials (using herbal medicine) numbered 691, discussions of individual

doctor's clinical experiences numbered 409, and reports on

experimental research numbered 118. There were 123 medical essays, 54

articles on acupuncture-moxibustion, 64 articles on Chinese medical

nursing, and 10 articles interviewing famous Chinese doctors. There

were 112 articles on Chinese medical truma medicine but only seven

articles on Chinese medical proctology. There were 38 articles on

Chinese medicinal pharmacological research.
