Guest guest
a big factor is the type of fat one eats. its all about the omega 3's and you can't get em on a vegan diet, no way, no how. eat wild fish and grass fed beef and those high DHA eggs. they are the key. of course, you still need your veggies and plenty of them. and the one thing we all agree upon. those nasty refined carbs. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4610070.stm Web/Online Coordinator Adult Degree and Graduate Programs Prescott College http://www.prescott.edu

You can get them from a vegan diet (seeds, nuts, esp flax), however don't eat too much else it won't get converted to EPA/DHA b/c of the rate limiting delta-6-desaturase. But I agree that I don't think I ever met any vegans that felt solid and healthy. > eat wild > fish and grass fed beef and those high DHA eggs. > they are the key. > of course, you still need your veggies and plenty of them. and the > one thing we all agree upon. those nasty refined carbs. > http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4610070.stm Good to see the mainstream finally catching up about fat. (partially the good work of Dr. Mary Enig). regards, george
Guest guest
Yes. I think that the book ³ the Makers Diet² is about this. A very nice book on this topic is called Nourishing Traditions: The Cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats -- by Sally Fallon. full fat everything! OK- an oversimplification. But the book makes a great case for grass fed animal protein, fermented veggies. Simple but ancient foods.
