IMO, the best WWW resources for academic articles are:

PubMed Medline:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?DB=pubmed

Advanced Google Scholar:

http://scholar.google.com/advanced_scholar_search?hl=en & lr=

Unfortunately, neither has strong evidence that Wuweizi increases IFN.

PubMed Medline: has only 2 hits, on:

(interferon OR IFN) AND (wuweizi OR wu-wei-zi OR schizandr* OR

schizandr*). See: http://tinyurl.com/af3d2

Google Scholar: http://tinyurl.com/d4ajt has a few hits, but none

definitive.

Google Scholar (with a CHINESE (hanzi) term search) at

http://tinyurl.com/9dgcp has many more hits than the English engines.

However, they need translation and I had not time to do that. Therefore,

I don't know the Chinese know something that we don't.

For a very crude Chin-Eng translation, drop that url [

http://tinyurl.com/9dgcp ] into bottom panel of babelfish [

http://babelfish.altavista.com/ ] and select Chinese Simple to English]

TRADIMED is a KOREAN database with awesome data on oriental

herbs. [

http://www.tradimed.com/eSearchResultList.asp?searchMajor=drug & se

archWord=schi & page=1 ] It has an English version but the database is

expensive and I could not get free access.

CINTCM is also a great database on TCM. It is in Chinese and one

must pay a fee for access.

THe ENGLISH version [ http://www.cintcm.com/index.htm ] has been

unavailable since last August.

Did any other listers find good data on Wuweizi and IFN?

Best regards,
