Some folks are more susceptible to the effects of cold exposure than others 2. Such folks experience more colds per year than others 3. exposing a random group to cold increases the onset of cold symptoms compared to a control group (however the increased incidence clusters in the group who is cold susceptible - not everyone is affected) This was done by an ND and lends support to several TCM ideas, which would be predicted based upon theory 1. External Cold is a disease factor 2.
