Guest guest
Dear Colleagues, Friends and Family, A recent mail on PVA-L purported to come from the senior ListMaster, Dr. Charisios Karanikiotes MD. That mail had an attachment, which the -server removed. It is probable that the attachment contained a link to an obscene site, or had a virus embedded in it. In the past two years, similar mails, with viruses attached, have gone to several of my friends and colleagues from a hacker who hijacked my address. 1. Be aware that neither Charisios nor I have joined the sad society of porn peddlers or spammers!! Those mails came from spammers or hackers who hijacked the legitmate addresses that Charisios and I use. 2. Hijackers and spammers harvest legitimate names and addresses by trawling WWW and infiltrating legitimate discussion lists. They use these legitimate names addresses illegally (i.e. fraudulently) when they purport to be someone whom you know, but are not that person. 3. DO NOT CLICK ON (open) email file attachments, even if the sender's address is that of your best friend or colleague unless the sender indicates WITHIN the email the nature of the file's contents. Even then, run the file attachment through an updated virus-checker before you open it. 4. PA-L, PVA-L and other listmasters have set the server to strip away (delete) file attachments from all emails sent to the lists. Therefore, if you wish to send a file to the list, you must upload it to the FILES area of the relevant list, for example to http://health. http://health.LIKEMLIST http://health.MMMeeting http://health.pa-l http://health.pva-l http://health.Chinese Medicine/file s/ MMDR-L etc Best regards,
