Guest guest
Hi folks, I have a patient who is coming in for neck pain, which I have diagnosed as Wind Cold Damp Bi. She also exhibits signs of Damp Heat in the Lower Jiao - recurring itching of the labia (always in the same spot, and continuous thick, creamy-colored vaginal discharge. My qustion is can these be treated simultaneously herbally? Will the Wind Cold Damp Bi herbs (if I guide them to the Du channel using, say, gao ben) go to the neck, and the clear Damp Heat herbs go to the Lower Jiao (if I guide them using, say, huang bai)? Or will the different temperatures of the herbs just cancel each other out, and I'd be better off treating the pain solely with acu and moxa, and the itching with herbs? Tongue is dusky pink and slightly toothmarked, dirty yellow coat at the root (patient also brushes tongue). Pulse is thin and slighly wiry, 70BPM. Also, another case - is it possible to drain and astringe at the same time? For instance using the draining herbs from jin gui shen qi wan and adding wu wei zi and jin ying zi to astringe Lu Qi and address chronic post nasal drip? Thanks, Elijah
