Guest guest
As I understand it, it is not so much that Yin is full at night and Yang is full during the day. It is more that Yang goes deep at night and comes out during the day. So it's more about location of Yin and Yang relative to each other then about quantity of Yin and Yang. So, at night Yang is trying to go deep into the Yin. If the Yin is vacuous then the Yang can't root in it. The Yang will stay in the exterior and cause heat symptoms. If Yang is vacuous then, in the day time when it is meant to come out, it can't and so there is lethargy, i.e. a relative excess of Yin. Does this make sense? The Ling Shu says " If the Wei Qi, (Yang) cannot enter the Yin at night then the Yang Qi will be full and the Yin will be vacuous " Sharon On Feb 28, 2006, at 4:10 PM, wrote: > Jason, > I understand this reasoning, but why don't we associate night time > more with def yang s/s as these should also increase when yin i full? > > Sharon Weizenbaum 86 Henry Street Amherst, MA 01002 413-549-4021 sweiz www.whitepinehealingarts.com
