suggestions, anyone - cancer patient?

Hi Folks,

 

I'm currently treating an in-patient cancer patient and would appreciate any

insight or suggestions you all might have.

 

She's a 59-year-old woman, has been in the hospital 14 of the last 16 weeks.

In-patient treatment for leukemia began in November; sent home after first

round. When I saw her during the 2 weeks she was home, her tongue was pale, wet,

swollen, trembling, short; pulses were soft, thin, fast. She was having deep,

aching pain throughout body; constipation; general weakness and extreme fatigue;

weight loss and inability to eat easily, she described her tongue and mouth as

feeling as though it was completely filled with novocaine. When she tried to

swallow anything, it dribbled out of her mouth, and she would occasionally

choke.

 

We began a course of Golden Flower's Chemo Support by grinding the pills and

having her take them in applesauce - low dose, 2 pills 3x/day. I also did

acupuncture 1x/day for 3 days - LI 11 or 4, ST 36, SP 6.

In three days of tx the tongue was noticeably less swollen, she could extend it

normally, dribbling/drooling had ended, she had a better ability to swallow

although the " novocaine feeling " never went away, but did improve slightly.

Unfortunately, the next day something happened that exhausted her small energy

resources, she began fainting on standing up, and ended back in the hospital,

TCM/acup txs stopped.

 

Several weeks later, they had managed to bring her weight back up, she felt

better, they did round 2 of chemo. Bowel issues and pain were being controlled

by pharmaceuticals, mouth problem didn't resolve, she was mostly drinking

protein drinks backed up by intravenous nutrition. She contracted a staph

infection through one of the intravenous feeds (lots of bruising, they kept

changing the site); ended up in ICU for more than 2 weeks, tx for infection and

pneumonia. She experienced ICU-psychosis which is much improved but not entirely

gone. Several more weeks post-ICU in hospital - catheter, lost ability to walk

or turn herself in bed, pain throughout body is back and unaddressed, mouth

sores which have mostly cleared up but the numbness remains, inability to eat by

mouth, no appetite. Her response to pharmaceuticals is extreme and sometimes

violent; she also does not throw off the chemo toxicity as most px do. They have

decided to end her leukemia tx as it stands; it appears to be in remission.

 

Last week she was transferred from the oncology-big-hospital to a smaller

hospital for recovery and rehab, where I have hospital privileges. Her condition

is about as above - incredible fatigue, depression, anxiety/panic attacks,

unable to walk or turn herself in bed, she's off-catheter but has a UTI, and no

ability to feel onset of bowel movement or urination. When she falls asleep she

twitches and spasms for several minutes until she gets into a deep sleep, but

she tends to fall asleep every 10 minutes or so for only 30-seconds to a minute,

then usually wakes. Has been having trouble with on/off constipation/diarrhea

(latter probably from meds for constipation) and also with sleeping deeply or

long. Thought of food nauseates her; she's now got a stomach tube through which

they're feeding 1x/day. Has not regained any weight, mouth is still numb,

refuses to take anything but gingerale by mouth. Can swallow pills with

difficulty, takes a lot of energy for speech, and speech is difficult because of

the numbness problem - she never knows where her tongue is. General malaise,

can't identify areas of pain except her back; occasional cramping spasms in

lower abdomen. Blood is in good shape except the platelet count isn't quite up

to normal yet.

 

Tongue is swollen, body is purple, deviated right, trembles, thick curdy coat

except on tip and edges - brown lateral, yellow medial. Pulses are slightly

fast, soft, thin, SP/ST pulse is thready, LU and Heart pulses are - I'm not sure

what to call them, they are irregular but without a pattern I can yet discern,

almost fluttering. None are deep, none are floating.

 

I've given her one tx: 10 mins with small-guage needles, LI 4, ST 36. She calms

during tx, fell deeply asleep about an hour afterward.

 

I'm not really sure where to start with her treatment - does anyone have

experience or suggestions?

In 1985 I tried for the first time a therapy-method for cancer never

described before. The results in my first patient were so good and promising

that I have used that method until the present day.

The method is about stimulating the bodies own control mechanisms to control

the growth of the cells by the help of one single needle. The needle is put

in a special acupuncture point that relate to the special cancer in that

special individual.

Since 1985 I have specially worked with cancer of the breast, either by

women or by dogs. This I have done because

. my results have been particularly good in treating mammary cancer (more

that 90% curative effect in malignant breast cancer)

. because so many women get this form of cancer

. because this is a form of cancer that make so many women all over the

world are made invalids as women

. because the costs of this treatment is so low that all women in the

world

may afford such a treatment (and may be it is just this point that makes it

so difficult to get the method tested).

 

I have lectured this method in several congresses, courses and veterinary

gatherings in both Europe, Australia and in the US of A., only though at

alternative gatherings.

Up to now I have received much positive feedback from colleges, at least

once a week. These feed-backs have though been anecdotical, and according to

my knowledge a controlled study or statistical analysis have never been

done, and all the feed-back I have got originate from colleges working with

alternative medicine.

After treating ~ 600 patients of all types (humans and animals), and with

all types of cancer (with ~80 % good effect, that is " healing " ), I felt that

the time was more than ripe enough to present this method for the orthodox

part of the medical community, the so called " school-medicine " .

I presented my results for the " Norwegian association of Cancer " in 1999,

and they concluded that a pilot project was needed. They also wanted this

study to be performed by the Norwegian Veterinary High School, partly

because I was a veterinarian, partly because several of my patients were

dogs and partly because they have had a good cooperation with them before.
