Guest guest
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any experience treating patients undergoing chemotherapy? I would appreciate any insight into treatment protocols for these types of patients. For instance, do you treat the patient with herbs during the chemo cycle, or between cycles? Can there be certain herb drug interactions? Many chemo agents are renal-toxic and I had somebody ask me if there are any herbs that are renal- protective. I know that Silybum is hepato-protective, but couldnt think of any for the kidney. (All I know is keep your fluids up during chemo for this reason). If you do treat with herbs during the chemo cycle, is it permissable to treat with anti-neoplastic herbs or according to the differentiation (eg, abdominal mass, ji ju etc), or just differentiate the patient more symptomatically for things like appetite loss and nausea? Any advice would be very appreciated. Regards, Lea Starck
