The issue of dosage

Hi!!

As a student of TCM, one thing i find confusing is the issue of dose.

Bob Flaws says that the standard prescription should be up to 180

grams per day. In Maciocia's 'Practice of CM' the prescriptions are

far less than 180 grams.

Is it a difference of opinion between these to authors, or are

they using different methods of measuring the herbs?

And what about ready-made remedies and dosage? I use Kan Herbs liquid

extracts. The recommended dosage seems a bit small to me.

Hope anyone can help me...

Dosage is, and probably will always be, the magical question... Some get

results with small doses, some with large. There is no right answer, and

every patient is different. IMO, flexibility (as always) is the key.. I

personally use a full spectrum of doses and forms for given situations...

Hope that helps :)
