Guest guest
Strange... I tested opening the file from another computer apart from mine and had no problems. There is need to lower your security settings. I found that if I try to open the file directly from the web it fails. The best method is to save the file on the hard disk. Open Microsoft Access. From with-in the Access application try to open the saved database. Guest guest
Ok, I finely figured it out. In Microsoft XP there is an added protection so when you load a Micsosoft Access database from the Internet it is marked as unsafe, and therefor if will not open. In order to open it , you must unblock it by right-clicking the file and choosing " Unblock " from the pop-up menu. Then you will be able to open the file. Is there anyone else still having problems with the file? Brian C. Allen

However, there is no such context menu on my Windows XP. When I right-click the file (saved on my hard-drive, rather than on the internet), the standard context menu pops up, just as it would for any other file. Guest guest
The " unblock " button is accessed by right-clicking the mdb file, choosing " Properties " . At the bottom of the properties menu, you will (hopefully) see a button called " unblock " . Click-it and hopefully everything will be ok. , " bcataiji " <bcataiji wrote: > > , " Guy Sedan " > <guysedan@> wrote: > > > > Brian, > > Did you see my response to Phil on the other thread?: > > > > > > In Microsoft XP there is an added protection so when you load a > Micsosoft > > Access database from the Internet it is marked as unsafe, and > therefor if > > will not open. Though I have Access, I never use it, and I was not aware of that feature within the " Properities " box. Brian C. Allen
