(1) Google has 394 hits for the Hanzi characters for Ganqizhi [LV Qi

Stag]. See: http://tinyurl.com/nc45x

(2) Google has 9180 hits for the Hanzi characters for Zhongyidacidian,

See: http://tinyurl.com/lm94k

(3) Google has 86 hits for the Hanzi characters for Zhongyidacidian

AND (Ganqi OR Qizhi), See: http://tinyurl.com/mfnoo

HOWEVER, there are NO HITS on Google for any combination of (1)

AND (2). I conclude that the term Ganqizhi does NOT appear in

Zhongyidacidian,

Does anyone disagree? If yes, please cite source / URL.

However, Google HAS 6 hits for the Hanzi characters for

Zhongyidacidian AND Ganqiyu, See: http://tinyurl.com/o5t3f

One of those hits [ http://tinyurl.com/rhehy ] has the term Ganqi Yuzhi,

which Wenlin software translates as LV Qi Stasis

I conclude that Ganqiyu (LV Qi Stag] does appear in Zhongyidacidian.

Would experts please explain the difference between the terms

Ganqizhi and Ganqiyu. Wenlin Software translates BOTH terms as LV

Qi Stag. And what is the difference between those terms and Ganqi

Yuzhi?

Best regards,

Jason, Phil, and All,

I am looking at a copy of the Zhongyidacidian published by Renmin

Weisheng Chubanshe. I'm not certain that this is the definitive

" zhongyidacidian " , but it seems quite comprehensive to me. I see

entries for gan1yu4, gan1qi4yu4, and gan1qi4yu4jie2, but none for

gan1qi4zhi4. [note: I tried to include the characters using the

standard Windows XP language pack, but upon previewing the message in

's interface, the characters were replaced by some bizarre code.

I'll resend this message with the characters intact via e-mail to

anyone who is interested. I can also provide instructions on how to

display the Chinese characters on your computer] The entries for

gan1qi4yu4 and gan1qi4yu4jie2 just point the reader back to the entry

for gan1yu4, and the entry for gan1yu4 states that it is an

abbreviation of the other two terms and goes on to define the concept.

Conclusion: the three included terms are one and the same, and the

term gan1qi4zhi4 is not in standard usage. Unless the people at Renmin

Weisheng Chubanshe missed something...
