I was wondering if I could use herbal extracts for congees instead of

using the herbs in their raw form, by raw I mean dried. I would like

to know your opinion on this. Also, kind of off the subject, are

there any other books on medicinal wines besides the one from blue

poppy press?

Thanks!

Hi Ricardo,

There is one book, that is not Chinese medicine based, but herbal based

about wines and beers. It is a most interesting book in many ways.

" Sacred and Herbal Healing Beers " by Stephen Harrod Buhner

Ricardo,

I don't see why not. In that case, I'd put the extract(s) in towards

the end. I wouldn't cook them for the whole length of time I'd cook

the rice (or other grain).
