Does anybody have a good recipe for a balm/salve for eczema. I know

that I want it to contain calendula infused oil, borage seed oil,

jojoba and shea butter. I just don't know what measurements to use and

what essential oils to use. It will be for my 2 year old daughter.

Thanks,

Mara

When my grandson's eczema flares up, we put plain unrefined shea or unrefined

shea whipped with rice bran oil on it and it heals up in a day or 2

Paula .......... in Michigan

I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away

Mara,

My friend Maggie makes a herbal salve,

just olive oil, beeswax, and weeds like chickweed,

plantain and others, that has worked great

for many kids with eczema when nothing else

worked.

Very reasonable too.

It might be worth getting some

while you experiment making your own.

I don't have a recipe for this salve, and if I

did it would not be mine to share.

I developed a lotion for dealing with both getting my face blown off in high

winds while snowboarding and for my daughter who has eczema on her arms

(milk allergy) ... I can't disclose the recipe as it isn't entirely mine but

you can get some of the lotion from me at www.snowboardmommy.com (Wind

Whipped Lotion)

If you know the ingredients you want to put in a lotion, but don't know how

to make one i'd recommend Donna Maria's " Aromatherapy Lotions " book.

You can also hunt around: http://www.makeyourowncosmetics.com, I think there

should be enough recipes there to help you figure out how to make a

balm/salve.

www.alternasense.com is where I bought it. They usually have a pre-buy every few

months.
