BUT... there was this funny thing... In two years (when we are supposed to

move THIS time), we are thinking of relocating to Spokane WA. I've lived

there before, me best friend is there (also liberal, former president of the

local chapter of NOW etc.) and my family live in the state etc.

 

Well, there is this nifty website, " findyourspot.com " where you plug in what

kinds of things you like, dislike about climate, terrain, religion etc to

help you find places where you will be happiest.

 

When I put in things like, don't mind a spanish speaking community, all for

gay advocacy programs, not a church goer, not fond of hunting etc... my

three main states are, Oregon, Vermont and Mass.

 

When I took out all the " Liberal " thinking and put in, Rebublican, NRA and

Catholic, number one spot in all of US for me was Spokane Washington!

ROFLMAO! Number two was Anchorage Alaska and number Three was, oddly enough,

Seattle Washington. I've never thought of Seattle as being particularily

Conservative. I was surprised at that.

 

I KNEW that Spokane was/is considered fairly conservative, but I didn't

really notice that it was as " backward in social conscience " as the proggie

suggested. I talked to my friend who still lives there and she acknowledges

that while it IS a rather conservative city, it's not quite as conservative

as the website would have one believe.

 

Anyway, I personally found it amusing.

 

As for Butch... Sadly he is a victim of wishful thinking. The Rose Glasses

syndrome perhaps. I think it's best not to mess with his delusions of

turning every good liberal into a Republican.

 

And Butch, Just because I think that all Sexual Predators (especially those

who harm children), should be hunted down, skinned alived and then tied to a

fire ant hill, drenched with honey and left there( Although in this case, I

think a punishment such as Prometheus received would be more fitting), it

doesn't follow that I believe that about everything else. ;-) I'm allowed to

have one or two quirks of personality that don't quite fit in with the

Liberal line of thinking without making me a " Hard Core, Right Wing,

Republican Extremist with an Ultra-Conservative mindset. "

 

I could point out that you, my friend, aren't exactly a poster child for the

Republican party EITHER. You've got some seriously Liberal thoughts in that

head of yours that comes out now and again. ;-)

 

How's Tanya doing? My SIL is due in about 3 weeks with HER first Child... My

brother is in for a shock, this is HIS first one too and he's 42 (She's 24

or 5). Being the evil person that I am, I'm sitting back and LAUGHING at

him. Poor Slob, he just doesn't have a CLUE as to what he's going to be hit

with. >snicker<

is a Liberal of Convenience .. sorta like a Fair Weather Idealist .. but
