Can someone suggest what type of measuring scale I need to buy for making my products? What features should I be looking for? Mara Hi Mara, It would help if you would tell us the general sizes and types of products you will be making . . . i.e., you may not need a sophisticated gram scale if you are primarily packaging in ounces . . . And most liquid products can be measured in measuring devices w/o a scale to plus or minus what is acceptable by law. If you do use a scale to verify the weight of something you sell by the fluid ounce, remember that all liquids are not the same . . .. Some will take more volume but weigh less than others and vice versa. Post a general list and we can probably be more helpful. Guest guest
Thank you, Marcia. I will be weighing in ounces and grams. I am going to be making bath salts, balms and salves, massage oils, etc. I just didn't know how sophisticated of a scale I needed. I need to weigh my ingredients and I will need to weigh the final product to determine how much to charge for shipping. Guest guest
go to ebay and look up " my weigh " scales and buy from old will knott. He's cool. There are many to choose from and you'll probably find one or more that will work for what you need. If you are making lotions and such it's good to have a triton for the smaller measures since it does partial grams and then get one like the KD 600 for larger items up to like 13 lbs.
