Guest guest
Well, I finally started to ship stuff to clients, have a website up and everything. I stayed local *very rewarding financially, little to worry about with shipping, which is my weak point*, and now I'm concerned. I'm hearing so much confusing stuff. I'm shipping USPS, insurance optional. It's easy for me. However, some say that even with insurance, it takes forever, if ever, to settle a claim. Others say UPS is nasty and smashes stuff. Others say FedEx is unreliable. I think both UPS and FedEx offer automatic insurance and tracking, someting the USPS doesn't (their " tracking " is a joke, right?) I've got lots of orders coming in, and I'm getting nervous, so please, any advice helpful. PS Paypal sends me an email when there is an order, but darned if I can figure out how to turn that into an address label. I have to type each one, or handwrite! Help needed here, too, obviously. http://naturalperfumery.com The premier site on the Web to discover the beauty of Natural Perfume Join to study natural perfumery
Guest guest
there is no tracking with USPS, it is a delivery confirmation number - it will only tell you when and where it is delivered. I have accounts with USPS on line and UPS to print my shipping labels. I don't have to go to the post office, just put the boxes out in my mail box. If you ship outside of the US, go with USPS - it'll save you lots of head aches if something gets lost. Paula .......... in Michigan I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away Well, I finally started to ship stuff to clients, have a website up and everything. Guest guest
Hi Anya, It seems to depend on where you are sending it - I live in Canada, and if we ship UPS, there are charges to do paperwork to prove that there is no duty due (I also dont allow UPS to ship to me in Canada for the same reason) We drive everything across the border and ship from there. I wont ship UPS into the Los Angeles area - it disappears every time. And I have some horror stories about UPS delivering damaged goods - usually leaking, and yet they wont admit the " accident just happened " We use USPS, with insurance and a confirmation number, and ship probably 50 parcels a week - no problems in the five years Ive been doing it. I guess my biggest beef with UPS is that when the parcel arrives damaged, they wont pay the shipping charge, even if they trashed it themselves Mary WEll, Naturally http://www.wellnaturally.com - paula coon Monday, January 30, 2006 7:59 AM Re: OT: USPS?
