For those of you that are interested in attending the Cameron County

Master Gardeners Herb Extravaganza, please find attached the flyer which

contains the registration form. In order to secure a seat at the

program, you need to send in the registration from along with a check

for $30.00. You will need Adobe to open the attachment. For those of

you that have problems with opening it, I will run some extra copies off

for you all.

The Cameron County Master Gardeners cordially invites everyone to

participate in the 2006 Herb Extravaganza to be held at the South Padre

Island Convention Center on February 25, 2006, in South Padre Island,

Texas.

 

 

 

We are very excited to present award winning author, photographer,

herbalist, Deni Bown as our keynote speaker.

 

 

 

Ms. Bown, a native of Norfolk, England, author of " Encyclopedia of Herbs

and Their Uses " " Growing Herbs " , and many other note worthy books and

publications will be presenting " Herbs for the 21st Century " , a close

look at healing herbs for this millennium illustrated with stunning

photography. Ms. Bown will separate fact from fiction and explore the

scientific basis for herbal remedies. Extravaganza participants will be

treated to exquisite images as Ms. Bown explains the brave new worlds of

" nutriceuticals " and " pharming " , and shows how simply and effectively

you can use herbs to maintain and improve your health.

 

 

 

Additional speakers will include Mr. Michael Butler covering culinary

uses of herbs. Ms. Sara Holland, Henry Flowers and Deborah Lansley will

work together in presenting " Under Utilized Herbs " . Mr. Pedro Garcia

& Company will present the film " God's Garden " .

 

 

 

The $30.00 advance ticket price includes admission to the above

programs, a delectable fresh herbal lunch, demonstrations, exhibits,

book store, and plant sales.
