Guest guest
Hi there folks, I have found many recipes online for this, all are basically a 4 parts oil to 1 part beeswax ratio. I am assuming these should all be oils that are liquid at room temperature from the recipes I have seen so far. Does anyone have any valuable advice for this? I have been making several infused oils for weeks, and don't want to mess this up. They are all infused in olive oil I hope that will ok. My son has terrible eczema, and the only thing that seems to help him is A & D ointment. I am hoping to come up with a more natural alternative, perhaps even something better. I infused comfrey, rose hips, rooibos and nettles. All seem to be very high in vitamin content. Any advice from those of you that already make this would be greatly appreciated TIA Theresa G. Guest guest
You have some good herbs going there....next time, try some calendula flowers (dried okay) in with your herb mix, perhaps with some mullein, lemon balm, and of course lavender. I make something similar for my grandson who has eczema...it's very effective. I infused mine for a couple of months, but to get yours going for the first batch, you could add a few drops of the above in essential oil form. Guest guest
for my grand son's eczema. I put unrefined shea butter on it adn you can see a difference in about an hour. My un-petroleum jelly is always 3 parts liquid oil to 1 part bees wax. I usually use rice bran oil or olive oil for all my infusions and salves. I used to use mainly olive oil until the price went up so much. Now I use rice bran oil in place of olive oil and use very little olive oil.
