Guest guest
I just finished my first tincture... equal parts sarsaparilla, dandelion, and gentian, 1:5... supposed to be good for clearing Damp Heat in the Lower Burner (e.g. urinary tract infection, etc). It's not all that clear... I can't deal with the sitting and decanting :-) I wish there were a good way to filter it. Anyway, just wanted to share. Best, Josh
Guest guest
I use a coffee press. It pulls out just about all of the plant material. Guest guest
Like a french press? That would still leave my tincture brown and cloudy, right? Is that the way it's supposed to be? >I use a coffee press. It pulls out just about all of the plant material.
Guest guest
Hi Josh! I use a funnel with a small wad of clean cheesecloth or muslin in the neck. A wide funnel makes a bigger target for us " pour challenged " individuals! If you have too much fabric, or a lot of small particulates, it may take " forever " to drip through, but you can get a very clear tincture. It doesn't really matter in my experience if the tincture is cloudy, although sometimes you can get some serious sludge later at the bottom of the tincture bottle. Sharon > > Like a french press? Guest guest
Yes, a French press. Depends on the plan material you are infusing. Echinacea, skullcap and valerian... those left the vodka dark. Steph }) http://tinyurl.com/7jr7b www.foxesdensoap.com On Behalf Of Joshua Alexander Like a French press?
