Our wonderful Neroli Hydrosol is back!! This is the same hydrosol we had

before that so many of you absolutely loved!!

 

Our Neroli hydrosol (Citrus aurantium/Orange Blossom) has an intense

floral and exotic aroma. It has been distilled from the blossoms of the

Bitter Orange tree and smells the way orange blossoms should. Neroli

is known to have a calming effect and is great for stressful situations.

It calms the central nervous system without making you feel sleepy. It

can be used on screaming children to help calm them down. You can also

make a lovely Neroli hydrosol pillow spray to help soothe stressed

nerves and allow a peaceful sleep. Some people have used this as a

spritz to calm their cat when it needs to go the vet. It also helps

with other animals in stressful situations.

 

Neroli has astringent properties and can be used in skin care where it

can help to reduce redness and irritation. It is beneficial for all

skin types and can be used in face masks, creams and lotions. Sometimes

it might be too strong for sensitive skin, so you might want to blend it

with a rose or chamomile hydrosol. It can also be used as a digestive

aid, calming spasms of the digestive tract. Try a little bit in a glass

of spring water for a soothing, refreshing treat! Try a tablespoon in a

glass of white wine or, cook with it as well in a marinade!

 

For those trying to get themselves off caffeine, Neroli hydrosol can

help to calm the withdrawal jitters rapidly.

 

Hydrosols are a valuable by-product of the distillation process which

produces the precious essential oils of a plant. Hydrosols contain the

oil soluble chemicals found in the essential oil as well as water

soluble aromatic chemicals, which are not found in the essential oil.

Hydrosols are far less concentrated than essential oils and are safer

and gentler to use than the essential oils, but they do contain

microscopic amounts of the essential oils.

 

Neroli hydrosol is wonderful for many cosmetic applications. For

example, it is much gentler and more effective than many commercial skin

toners. It can be the ingredient used in the water phase of lotion

making. Blended with various powdered clays, it makes a wonderful

facial mask. During hot summer days it can be placed into a spritzer

bottle and used liberally to keep skin cool, plump and supple.

 

Upon receipt of your hydrosol it should be stored in the refrigerator.

To avoid contamination do not touch the bottle rim or inside of the cap

with your fingers and do not pour unused hydrosol back into the

container. Also, avoid direct sunlight and extreme heat exposure for

long periods of time.

Our Seabuckthorn plants are grown without pesticides or herbicides. The

fruit is then cleaned and washed and tested for contaminants. The seeds

are cleaned and crushed and put through a supercritical C02 extraction

process to protect valuable phyto-chemicals. Seabuckthorn contains an

astonishing array of nutrients in its fruit, seed, leaves and even bark.

 

CO2 extracted, the golden colored Seabuckthorn Seed Oil contains no

additives. It is a rare source of up to 34% linoleic and 32% alpha

linolenic acids in an almost perfect 1:1 ratio. It also contains 12

additional fatty acids including docosahexaenoic (DHA) and

eicosapentaenoic (EPA). In addition to being an excellent source of

natural Vitamin E, Seabuckthorn Seed Oil contains carotenoids and trace

SEABUCKTHORN BERRY OIL

 

Oil from the Seabuckthorn Berry is a deep red color due to its high

carotene content which includes valuable lycopene. Fruit Oil is the most

potent source of palmitoleic acid (C16:1) with values as high as 34%.

This fatty acid supports cellular regeneration as a component of the

skin fat and creates a silky soft and smooth feeling to the skin. In

addition it contains carotenoids, tocopherols and phytosterols. Among

the carotenes found in Seabuckthorn are alpha- and beta-carotene,

lycopene, cryptoxanthin, zeaxanthin, taraxanthin and phytofluin. Its low

peroxide value makes it a very stable oil. Seabuckthorn fruit oil also

contains flavonoids, omega 3 and 6, DHA and numerous trace elements. The

oil is a valuable ingredient in topical applications as well as

nutraceutical formulations. It has long been used to promote the healing

of burns and is an ingredient in several commercial sunscreen and

cosmetic products.
