fermented vs. cultured

OK, so it's not an oils or an herbs question, but I think it falls under

the etc.! :-)

Dopes anyone know the difference between cultured and fermented, or is

there a difference? To make a long story short, Iam not a big fan of soy

as a substitute for other foods, but I will eat fermented soy like

tempeh and miso, and I have also been eating soy yogurt (my son is

allergic to cow and goat dairy and I am nursing -- anyone have any

experience with water buffalo products and allergies?). Dr. Mercola's

newsletter a couple back stated that yogurt was not fermented, but I

always thought the cultured part of it made it easier to digest and

better for you.

Help, anyone?
