Kristen Dear Kristen, Alternatives to drugging kids diagnosed with ADHD is one of the passions of my life. I am working on a series that covers all aspects, not just the nutritional/bio-chemical, and need to get back to it. Thanks for the push. There is no such a thing as " a herb " that helps ADHD. Some regular calming herbs like chamomile may help some hyper kids to fall asleep for example, but other ADD kids actually calm down with caffeine, go figure. There may well be no such a thing as ADHD, as a specific neurological disorder. That is a whole other topic. Behaviors that are labeled ADHD can have many root causes, from nutritional deficiencies to allergies to emotional factors to learning styles, and many more. You want to start by looking at his whole diet. Take out the refined sugary junk food, if there is any. Food colorings and additives are the main culprits. Allergies can be a big factor.
