Hi Inneke,

You have to pick SJW by the individual blossom, and place it into a carrier oil

immediately. The oil is only in the blossom in the early part of the day, so in

the early morning, when the dew is gone, but before the heat of the day. I

usually take a widemouthed jar out and add the blossoms to it, I take the spent

blossoms out at night, and add new the following morning, until I get a deep

crimson infused oil.

Its very time consuming picking the blossoms, but well, well worth it. You will

know its the right time to pick when a crushed blossom gives you a crimson

colour.

A cluster of blossoms will have some open, and

some in bud. Do you mean, each little blossom

should be picked one at the time?

And what is the right point?

Thanks so much, we have tons of SJW.

The last few years it has become a common roadside

plant around here. (Southern Interior of B.C.)

Hard to imagine I actually paid money (to Richter's)

for my first plant.
