I would be interested in anyone has a recipe for tooth soap. We use a tooth powder using baking soda and tee tree EO. Hubby puts salt in it, which I don't care for. Shh..don't tell him, he is on this list. Lol. My favorite tooth powder is baking powder, tea tree oil EO and myrrh EO. Myrrh, an astringent, is a common ingredient used in tooth powders and mouthwashes. Excellent for " spongy " gums. It is widely used for many health problems. Guest guest
Say, does any of you make a tooth soap? No, but I used to have many dental problems until about ten years ago when I stopped using toothpaste. I have had zero problems since then. Before, I suffered through 7 extractions and 5 root canals. I have had only 4 cavities in my life, however. Around ten years ago I began brushing my teeth with a paste made from baking soda and tea tree oil. My gum pockets disappeared. I have not had an infected tooth since. About three years ago a filling fell out, and I’ve never even been to the dentist about it, because no decay has ever entered the cavity. I am not sure I would enjoy brushing my teeth with soap, either!!!!! Seems I spent my childhood with a bar of soap in my mouth! However, I am open to most anything. We have a good Castille soap, also. We could put Myrrh and TeaTree oil in it. I am not sure, but I think my herbal teacher/mentor used Myrrh directly on her toothbrush. I will double check with her. I won't try it until I know for sure. I am interested in what the other members know about a tooth soap, also. Blessings! Guest guest
When mixing baking soda and tea tree for tooth cleaning, does every one premix for more then one brushing? I do. I have a little jar (that once held crushed garlic) that I fill regularly. I usually add a part of salt to about 6 parts baking soda, and sometimes I add myrrh or even some peppermint oil for flavor. Generally though, it’s the tea tree that does the trick. This works so much better than ANY commercial toothpaste I’ve ever seen. Guest guest
Thanks Dave, Think I will add the myrrh, I use to put a drop of it on my toothpaste. Thought maybe it would be nice to make a batch to last a week. Oh well. Did use it this morning. Nancy I do. I have a little jar (that once held crushed garlic) that I fill regularly. Guest guest
Hi Kaye, This will be so much easier then mixing it a couple times a day. I also have a ton of containers. Guest guest
At our house we blend tea tree, peppermint & emu oil in a pump bottle. We have a separate bottle of High Magnesium Dead Sea Brine and put a few drops of the brine on our toothpaste, then add a few drops of the oil blend. Actually gets your teeth whiter and no plaque build up during the day! We've been doing this for almost 3 years now! I have the healthiest gums! It's amazing! Tammy D.
