Guest guest
A friend of mine who is 6 months pregnant is using an inhalation for the vaporizer by Kaz. Her husband has bronchitis so she keeps it on in the bedroom while they are sleeping. I asked her to read me the ingredient list. Besides menthol, eucalyptus, and peppermint, it also listed camphor and methyl salycitate. I am concerned about the last two. I have read that camphor does cross the placenta when taken orally. I cannot find any info regarding inhalation, but I am thinking that would also cross. Does anyone have any info on this? Or safety regarding these ingredients and inhalation during pregnancy? By the way, there is no warning on the bottle, which I think is quite odd. Usually there is a warning on just about everything when it comes to pregnancy. It is not recommended for topical use in general. I know that Martin Watt, in the Plant Aromatics, does not recommend its use in women of childbearing years, but this is for topical use. I could not find any reference for inhalation. Maybe one of the Magi of this list could answer on the inhalation issue with more autority than I! However, I did find a MSDS sheet from a company that manufactures methyl salicylate, and they issue an inhalation warning! Here is the link to view the msds document: http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/englishhtml/m7257.htm I hope this helps. Warm regards and continue to be, Lori >
