Hi all:

I am usually a lurker, as I feel I have so much more to learn - and,

boy, have I! - than to share. I have taken a big leap moneywise(for

me) and ordered the 25g rose otto of Butch Owen fame. If anyone is

interested in splitting the order in 2 or 3, let me know.

You folks are awesome, and it seems that the more I learn, the more I

learn I have to learn!

Intro- here you go: I live in NE Indiana with my husband, 8 yo

daughter (my only biological child - I'm 49 almost 50), and LOTS OF

pets. We live on a 15 acre plot of land out in the country, and have

recently completed building a 16 X 24 hoop greenhouse. It's not heated

yet, so I am CAUTIOUSLY planning to raise plants for my horticultural

therapy/education business. Most of these plants are either native

perennials or have some sensory value (smell, touch, sound, etc) for

clients' programs. Reference sites for HT are www.ahta.org and

www.chta.org.

My background is environmental ed., but, as many of you have already

experienced, you have to provide your own opportunities in this kind

of field. That's why the HT. My paying job is with intermediately

mentally ill women in a 5-person group home setting. Boy do they love

me doing essential oil projects with them!!! Thanks again for all the

wonderful info!

Shalom

When I lived up in NY and then in CO I wanted a greenhouse so badly. Now

that I'm down here in SE TX its practically like living a greenhouse ;)

With springtime just around the corner we're trying to get a little

plant a seed swap together. There is a place in the group's database

area for it!

Please, join in :)
