Guest guest
I'm so jealous of you who are already harvesting nettles. Don't forget to try some of that for dinner! It is so nutritious and tastes good too. My favorite method uses the microwave, but limits contact with the sassy plant. I take a sturdy gusseted baggie, gloves, and a pair of snips to the field. After filling the bag with the green nettles (early spring before bloom), I sprinkle the contents with a tiny bit of water and microwave for only a minute to 90 seconds. That's it. Nettle is also a great tea for spring. Guest guest
Thanks, Tina, for a great idea! I’ve been cooking them like spinach, or using them in casseroles. They’re great mixed with kale. You can add some tender Russian thistle tips if you’re adventurous. Our are just starting to bloom here. Dave I take a sturdy gusseted baggie, gloves, and a pair of snips to the field. I use nettles for all kinds of things. I boil it, strain it, and use it as a wonderful hair rinse. I also boil it for a few minutes, and use it as a fantastic facial steam. It is so wonderful for the skin and hair. Blessings! Kaye I'm so jealous of you who are already harvesting nettles. Don't forget to try some of that for dinner!
