OT: Our Little Boy

Hi y'all,

 

Again .. late in replying to lots of nice posts but I have been one busy

feller lately. Good busy it is .. but still mighty busy. ;-)

In a few days .. I have taken dozens already but as most of y'all know,

little newborns are generally so ugly that only parents can love them

for the first few days. ;-) They go from wrinkled old men/women to

handsome little people around the 12-14 day mark .. and Alexander just

turned 7 days old today. ;-)

Thanks .. I'm hoping he is a better man than I am .. or have been.

He'll certainly be able to get the right training and guidance from the

git go .. that's a norm in human development I reckon.

Not really .. life is pretty easy. Alexander is not a whiner .. there

is no walking the floor with this little boy. He cries when he has a

message to give .. needs a change or is hungry. When that is fixed he

lays back and observes things .. loves music .. and when he gets tired

of looking around he sacks out again. Tanya enjoys every minute of him

being awake .. and .. I do too. ;-)

 

> Thankfully Tanya's Mother will be there to help you.

 

She is really a great help. A typical Russian Babushka .. no nonsense

dedication .. tender and tough and sweet .. a great sense of humor ..

and never runs out of energy .. and 12 years younger than I am. ;-)

 

Grandma Valentina showed up with a suitcase I could barely lift .. full

of all the good things to eat that Tanya missed .. a ham, a shoulder,

half a side of bacon, salamis, seeds, pulses, Beluga caviar, canned

fruits and pickles and all the clothing Alexander will need for a long

time. And betwixt her cooking and Tanya's (both being fantastic) I'm

having to reduce my beer ration and exercise more. ;-)

Its a real joy .. my life is totally different than it was for the 18+

years I was single .. and thought I lived pretty high on the hawg during

that period .. I don't miss a thing about it .. and now its even better

since our little rascal has reported for duty. :-P

Thank you ma'am .. appreciated fer'shur. He was named for two folks I

have always held in great esteem .. one being the greatest military

leader in the history of the world .. and the middle name being my

middle name .. which belonged to my mother's uncle .. a great man who

was a professional athlete .. then director of the Davidson County TN

Parks Department .. and who in his 80s .. as a partially crippled man,

died while trying to get his wife out of a house fire.

Thank you ma'am .. Old Mastah Willing I will have enough time to tell

and show him what I think he needs to see and know. Truth is .. prior

to marrying Tanya and then Alexander coming along .. I didn't care a lot

what happened in my life .. lived on the edge a lot and liked it .. but

I've got to remedy that .. real soon.

Thankee ma'am .. I sorta snuck that fact in a while back .. hid it down

in the text of a message. Alexander is my 5th child .. 3 girls (33, 36,

42) and 2 boys, 45 and 1 week. I started early .. and forgot to quit ..

I was a grandpa at 39. ;-) But this little one is different .. though

the others all did well Alexander is my last chance to do something

worthwhile and (hopefully) leave a small part of the world in better

shape. I have great plans for that little feller. :-p

Thank you ma'am .. he's gonna be a leg up on many in that he will be

bilingual from the git go .. Tanya speaks only Russian to him and I

speak only English .. he'll learn both well at the same time.

Thanks again .. and we spoil each other. She is a great wife and a

great mother .. full of energy and always sweet and smiling. I am one

They are doing great. Alexander had his 1 week check up on Saturday and

I danged sure hope he looks like his Mama .. as for charm .. she can

Like I wrote above .. Alexander has more hair than I do .. and I had to

shave my beard cause he let me know fast that he didn't like it. ;-)

But .. he likes the sound of my voice. I can talk to him when he's

laying down and he goes straight to sleep .. could be he likes the sound

of English better than he likes Russian. ;-)
