Guest guest
Tough calllavender or oregano. I guess Id have to go with lavender, if I was only allowed one. I don't know if it qualifies as a herb, but since you asked.... My " She's Gotta Have It " substance is Aquazon, a mix of BlueGreen Algae and Fucus seaweed. I know it is a total cliche, but it changed my life. From an exhausted, muddle-headed meno-pausal mess full of beginning aches and pains to a more-or less together, usually energetic person for whom nothing whines, aches, or creaks. Guest guest
I wouldn't want to limit you! I'm just curious what folks find the most useful. I'm partial to lavender myself. Susan H. Guest guest
It was a tough call. I chose lavender because it has so many applications, and because it can be used neat, at least in our case, although we dont use it that way. We do use it in household cleaning. Tea tree would be a close second, because we use that on all kinds of small wounds, and in toothpaste. Both of these are readily available too, which was a factor in choosing them. Guest guest
My favorite changes from year to year. For several years when my daughter was very young it was chamomile. It was very helpful for sleeplessness, things like storms that scared her, and just settling down after a party or holiday. We kept the tincture around to take in a little apple juice for her. Tea bags for mini compresses and larger muslin bags for bathing tea were very handy for SO many things. At the same time, I was on my feet a lot at the shop, so a drop or two of chamomile e.o. in a massage oil for my feet helped me relax after a long day. Next came lavender. I love the plant for the fragrance, for cooking, for crafting, and the e.o. mixed with aloe, jewelweed, and plantain took us through the years from 7 to 12. She even had a little cloth cat stuffed with lavender that she took to school to ward off anxiety. Lately it has been elderberry and elderflower for cooking, wine, dying, crafting, and anti-viral properties. Eventually, another plant will be " it " . I'm very interested in Mimosa/Albizzia right now. That could be next. Guest guest
Hi Ien! Where do you get it ? The only suppliers online I see are in the US... I'm a Canuck like you :-) How long did it take you to notice the difference? Now, on the other hand, my must have goodie to have on hand, eo wise is helichrysum, but I also love to have Glacial clay and comfrey root powder onhand. Its a tough choice to limit yourself to one thing.... I would think 10 things would be hard to limit yourself to! Gosh, redid my spices and discovered I had over 30 of them.... geeeeesh!
