Guest guest
Amen!!! And you can add Pharmacists, one of whom is my father. Dad went into pharmacy because of a strong interest in chemistry and a desire to help people, not to try to *kill* or injure people out of greed! I find the constant bashing of Western medicine distressing, to say the least. It has it's problems, largely due to Big Business taking over so much of it, but face it, folks, Western Medicine has done away with a lot of nasty illnesses that old-fashioned herbalism couldn't do a darned thing about, and people living in areas of the world with Western Medicine have better health and longer life expectancies than those in the rest of the world. And I am proudly preparing to follow in Dad's footsteps...almost 20 years late, but better late then never! It's probably going to take me 8 years to get a 6 year degree (must do the initial stuff part-time while working full time), but I'll get there. Partly from a desire to help people, partly from a desire to be able to really *understand* what's going on in pharmaceuticals, and I'll admit it, partly from a desire for a better income that will enable my husband and I to travel more, support more of our charities, and free my husband up to open the store he's dreamed about for years...
