Guest guest
Hey y'all, Its over .. I won't get to see it again for 60 years. I reckon then I gotta find me some real backward place and tell folks I'm gonna blot out the sun if'n they don't straighten up and fly right .. course, they ain't gonna believe me. But after it goes down I'll tell'em they gotta make some changes fast or I'll blot it out forever. ;-) The last time we had a total eclipse here in Turkey was 11 August 1999 http://www.hermit.org/Eclipse1999/ Six days later .. on 17 August 1999 .. we had the biggest quake in many years .. 7.4 magnitude .. over 22,000 people died. I worked S & R on that one for a week. Some of the more backward Imams then told folks it was punishment for this and that. :-( On the other hand .. I have recently read of a theory that activation of quakes might well have something to do with solar activity .. I can think of a few variables that might eventually show that there is some fact to this theory .. can't remember who or where the research was going down but it was a relatively logical presentation of data.
