Thanks all for replying to my HP vs CP question :) I think I will give HP a

try - and helen the HPer - could I add botanicals for eg. Lavender buds, and

not have them turn brown on me, especially if I added it to the TOP of the

soap after it has been moulded??? I would love to have a botanical retain

its colour!! I made a natural green soap (an eczema soap) that actually

retained its green colour , through using dried stinging nettle leaves and

wetting them slightly and pureeing in a blender. I added the lye to this

puree/water combination and it turned brown. I was worried, but the soap

ended up a lovely natural green colour. :) This is my only success though!!!

I love CPing, but I cant really make judgement on what is best till I have

tried both ways i suppose ! (I am not a big fan of rebatching, so we'll

see!)

Michelle - a few years ago mum bought some pomegranite massage oil - it was

lovely!!! probably not all-natural, I couldnt tell you what was in it, but

maybe you could incorporate it into a massage oil?

Also, I have a distiller and I have SO MANY frangipanis its not funny :) We

did pick some and distill them when we first got the still but the hydrosol

smelled really BAD and there wasnt any oil (which doesnt surprise me, as you

can only get it in absolute form I think) and have learned since that you

need to air out your hydrosols for a couple of days to kill all the nasty

phenols and stuff so that it smells like the botanical. Can anyone tell me

if there is any use for Frangipani hydrosol? If so, and if I can actually

produce something nice smelling, then I may give distilling it another go.

Any info on this would be great :)

I picked some roses from the front garden and have made a BEAUTIFUL

hydrosol, not the same as the bulgarian roses but does anyone know if it has

any similar qualities? I would have NO idea what type of rose it is, its a

pinky reddy colour and smells nice. I distilled some pink ones, and the

hydrosol smelled crappy even after a few days of airing it out so I chucked

it.

Thanks all!!!

Justine :)
