Guest guest
Hello all, correct if I'm wrong but didn't recently someone give a remedy for an earache like using an EO on a cotton ball and plugging the ear?? I sure hope someone remembers what the EO was and shares it with me. I also have a cold and have been sniffing oregano but still feeling lousy with a capital " L " . Thanks in advance Linda
Guest guest
Hi Linda, DO NOT put essential oil into your ear - you could give yourself a nasty chemical burn. Best oil to use is a mullein/garlic infused oil, but olive oil warmed will give you some relief. Bake an onion in the oven, and when its hot, wrap it in clean cloth and hold it to the ear, it acts as a poultice, Mullein tea will help clear your head - Mary Well, Naturally http://www.wellnaturally.com - ninny52348 Monday, April 03, 2006 3:24 PM I have an earache Hello all, correct if I'm wrong but didn't recently someone give a remedy for an earache like using an EO on a cotton ball and plugging the ear?? Guest guest
Hi Linda, I am new here, but I can give you an essential oil that you can use to help with an earache, Chamomile, just add a couple drops to a cotton ball and apply. Do this 2 times a day, you can also use garlic oil. If you do not want to put anything in the ears a good thing to do is take Eucalyptus Oil and place it in a diffuser, it will help clear all the airway passages helping you to relieve the earache as well. Guest guest
I have another sugggestion that works great and fast. Hydrogen Peroxide. The stuff in the brown Bottle that you use on scrapes and cuts. Just pour some onto a cotton Ball and squeeze it till your ear canal fills . It will bubble and fizz. Its does this as it kills the infection. You can also use this remedy on a tooth ache. Just swish it around in your mouth. DO NOT SWOLLOW IT. If it is to stron full strenght in your mouth then you can dilute it with water. It tastes terribke but it will clean the infection and kill the pain after a couple of doses. I hope this helps someone. Please feel free to visit www.beautyresourcenetwork.com we have helpful hints etc all the time. Guest guest
As someone else recommended warm 5ml of olive oil and add two teaspoons of EO. Dip a cotton ball into the mixture and out inside the ear. You can also massage around the ear as well on the outside. You can try either chamomile, lavender (great for the pain) and basil. Personally I find the massage on the outside of the ear canal works really well. Jo
Guest guest
Thanks everybody for the wonderful suggestions and this time I have them saved for future reference...:-) Fortunately I didn't have to try any of the remedies because my sinuses and cavities have started to drain and so thank goodness my ear no longer hurts. I do so appreciate all the responses. You guys always come through with answers to problems... Linda
