[Dave:] It’s an herbal tea – one of the latest “discoveries.” We sell it where I work, though I’ve never tried it. _____ -- Version: 7.1.385 / Virus Database: 268.4.0/305 - Release 4/8/2006 -- Version: 7.1.385 / Virus Database: 268.4.0/305 - Release 4/8/2006

Rather than refer to myself or others as " owners " of animals we share our lives with, I now refer to myself and others as " guardians " of our animal friends and to animals as " he " or " she " rather than " it. " Guardians do not buy or sell animals; instead they rescue and adopt. I urge you to do the same.
Guest guest
When I worked in a Health Food Store last year Hoodia was just coming on the market. Here is what we were told: It is an herb used in Africa when the natives are going on a long trek, they take hoodia so that they don't have to eat, it's supposed to supress the appitite, so they could travel long distances without having to stop to eat, I don't belive they used it all the time. So now it's being touted as a weight loss product, just remember, that you still need food to fuel your body, and this is how people get into trouble with these " miracle products, such as Ephedra, over use creats problems in the body, could result in serious injury and death from overuse. We tend to overuse products that are in fact good, but the overuse creates problems, then the FDA steps in and removes it from the market, something that has the potential to be very useful, but because of the " if a little is good, lots is better " mode of thinking, resulting in illness or death, we lose the product.be, but the body still needs food for fuel, and to keep our body functioning correctly. Moderation is best in this case, I would think. We could add coca to that pattern as well. We (the North-Athlantic society) take a substance out of context, abuse it in a way it was not used in the society of origin, and then get all bent out of shape and try to ban/blame the substance, even in the society where it has been used for thousands of years without problem. Go, Evo Morales!
